Asian Platform Bed Truly Asia

Asia has always stood out in furniture design. Their designs to say the least are world apart from what we expect from either American or European styles. The uniqueness is welcomed by people who want something different. Something that isn’t available everywhere. Asian platform beds have hallmark Chinese elements and often mistaken for Japanese and Korean craftsmanship. We won’t delve into the differences because the foundations as they are essentially the same. Asian crafted beds rarely have storage and this is an obvious distinction from other work. It’s also not surprising that the frame of the beds often resembles Chinese architecture notably the Han and Ming Dynasties.

Oneness is the perfect summation to describe an Asian platform bed. Asians revere the bedroom as a sanctuary for peace and tranquility. The detail of the bed, and the patterns crafted on the bed frame often resemble the construction or a component of the home. It can be a gate or even the design of the house. Some of these beds are often specially made and made to order. There are simpler design that are not as complex and could be afforded by the average Joe. This is what we will focus on because there’s no use writing about something that is too costly.

The image of the platform bed is clearly crafted using Asian designs. The legs of the bed are the obvious sign. This bed looks like something Bruce Lee would have slept on. This style with a thick mattress and a nice comforter will make any bedroom look dashing. A thinner mattress would be a better fit if you didn’t use a headboard. A Queen, King or even California King platform bed would be the best sizes for this Asian platform bed. The rest of the bedroom can be fitted with traditional furniture as long as the wood color looks like the same color as the base of the bed.
